2009/10 Sweet Adeline of the Year
Nancy Kelsey was honored by her peers from the Toast of Tampa Chorus as the outstanding Sweet Adeline of the Year for 2010. The award is given annually to the woman who best exemplifies the chorus' mission: to promote harmony and uphold high standards of leadership.
Nancy was born in Buffalo NY and was involved in music early. Her childhood home had hardwood floors and Dad would play the piano and Nancy would "tap dance" on the floors, much to her Mom's chagrin. She entered her very first musical competition at age 6, singing "Lulu's back in town" at Glen Park Casino where she earned 3rd prize an a beautiful pink teddy bear. That was all it took...she had the "bug".
Nancy and her sisters Pam and Renee are all members of Sweet Adelines and are all Baris! She lives in Seminole with her husband Bill, daughter Katie and their dog Duke.
Nancy says that "being the choreo team leader for Toast of Tampa is very special to me. I love this chorus and I have been blessed with the opportunity to do something that I absolutely love."
